Welcome to Student Ministries!

SM web page

It’s our mission to help students find their way back to God! We want each student to know and experience God’s love and grace, and urge them to take the next step from wherever they are- to grow closer to Jesus. It’s our desire and passion for youth to build authentic relationships with other students and leaders so they can actively explore what living out their faith looks like. We want to help empower each student to make a difference in their home, school, and community!

Believing parents are the primary spiritual leaders for their family, we seek to partner with parents and grandparents in helping to raise youth with a faith that sticks for a lifetime. In our children’s and student ministries, we value age-appropriate biblical teaching, missions, parent partnership, inter-generational relationships, and of course, lots of FUN!

About our Sunday night format… Matthew 22:37-40 and Matthew 28:19 are the words of Jesus which are commonly called the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.  They are the two most important statements which gives insight to how disciples of Jesus live, and what our mission should be.  From them, three dominant themes of a community of disciples emerge: UP (worship together), IN (be family- in close community with one another), and OUT (serve together).

Our two big events for students are the Winter Retreat and Youth Week. Both are open to students grades 6-12.

Winter Retreat: February 9-11, 2018  This year we will again be on the shores of Lake Michigan at Camp Geneva.  Outdoor games and amazing worship are just some of the fun we’ve packed in as we grow together and learn more about God.  Printable registration forms. Deadline is Sunday, January 28.

Youth Week: June 24-39, 2018  Middle and high school students will partner with ministries throughout West Michigan for mission work all week long. We’ll spend the week together while we serve our community during the day and experience an awesome program and worship every night!

  • +Profession of Faith

‘Young Seekers’ is a profession of faith program that runs in the fall for students in grades 8-12.  Students are paired with a mentor, called a guide who walks with them through asking some of the big questions around faith.

Get involved!

It takes a village, right? Students need  trusted mentor leaders of all ages to gain wisdom from and to confide in as they discover who God is and as they seek to make their identity in Him.
