Welcome to Harbor Kids!

Harbor Kids is where infants and children through grade 5 experience a safe, fun and exciting place to learn about how much God loves them and build relationships with other kids and leaders.

We seek to partner with parents and grandparents in helping to raise children with a faith that sticks for a lifetime. In our children’s and student ministries, we value age-appropriate biblical teaching, missions, parent partnership, inter-generational relationships, and of course, FUN!

  • +Nursery

Our nursery is for children birth through age 2. It’s our hope and prayer that your child will begin to sense how much God loves them through being well-cared for and valued in our nursery. In addition, toddlers enjoy a short Bible story and prayer that is repeated each week. It’s one of the ways we partner with you as parents in helping build a foundation for your child to have a relationship with Jesus as they grow older!

  • +Preschool/Early Childhood

Our Early Childhood area is for children ages 3 through young 5’s/Pre-Kindergarten. These youngster’s use crafts, activities, and songs to experience their “First Look” at God and to know Him as Father and Friend. They take part in a large-group time that includes a Bible story and worship. We use the “First Look” curriculum which is based on Psalm 119:18, “Open my eyes so that I can see the wonderful truths.” The program is designed to give children a first impression of their loving heavenly Father so they will know three main truths: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Each week children in Kindergarten through grade 5 explore a different ‘Big Picture Question’ to learn how much God loves them no matter what and that He can be trusted. Children spend time in two main areas:

    1. Large Group… is designed to engage children within a large group setting. Music, prayer, and an innovative approach to teaching the Bible story (which is from a curriculum called ‘The Gospel Project’), are a part of this interactive time.

    2. Small group… is designed to help children understand how the day’s Bible lesson applies to their daily life. Small Group Leaders who genuinely care about them and want to help them deepen their relationship with Jesus will discuss real life experiences and participate in a variety of activities that appeal to different learning styles.El. boys

  • +Special Needs

If you have a child with a special need to where they would benefit from having a personal ‘buddy’ and close attention, keep reading! Our goal is to:

~ Give children with special needs a stress-free environment to interact with others and integrate them fully or partially into children’s programming.

~ Give children a chance to learn about Jesus in a fun environment! (We believe special needs is no limitation for the Holy Spirit to work in any child’s life!)

~ Give other kids the opportunity to be their friend and learn that we’re all made uniquely by God!

~ Bless parents with the opportunity to attend and enjoy worship services when they otherwise could not.

Please contact our Special Needs Intern, David by emailing davidvm@fhchurch.org. David will be happy to meet with you and your child during the week to show you our sensory room and help make a plan for the best way to include your child in Harbor Kids as soon as possible!

  • +Your 1st Visit/Register Your Child

Registering your child for Fair Haven Kids is simple.  Just come to one of our check-in kiosks; we’ll ask you to fill out a short form, enter your information in our computer, then assign your child to a small group and show you where to go! (If you prefer to come prepared, click here for the printable form to fill out ahead of time to bring with you!) Please note, nursery check in is limited to the nursery counter; children age 3 through grade 5 can go to any of the age-level kiosks where you can check in multiple children age 3 and up in your family all at one location!

  • +How Check-in Works

Check inYou may check in your child at any available kiosk. (Note, Nursery children must be checked in at the Nursery counter).  After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you keep the matching tag. After the service, you will return to your child’s area and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.  (Parents may choose a ‘Go’ option for children in grades 1 through 5 to be released on their own. We highly recommend a planned meeting point when choosing this option!)

In the event that we need to contact you during the service, we will text you, as well as place your identification number on the small screens in the worship center. We ask that you exit the worship center immediately and look for a staff member or volunteer who will direct you to your child.
