Lent: Through the Eyes of the Father
March 14, 2019
The church is often asked an honest, but difficult question: “Is God actually good, because if He is, why is there so much that feels so wrong in our world?”
Jesus addresses exactly this tension, and His response is quite beautiful. He says: “Which of you if your son asks for bread will give him a stone? If human parents would never do this, then how much MORE loving is God, who is our Father?”
Because parents will do anything to love and protect their children. A parent’s heart breaks in uniquely painful ways over the pain of their children. This year, as we count down to the death and resurrection of Jesus, let’s think about Lent, through the eyes of the Father.
