Yeah, but how?
April 10, 2018
You probably know this by now, but the mission statement of our church is to help people find their way back to God. I love it. It’s what unifies us, energizes us, and with a focus “for the other,” we are seeing God bring people back and closer to himself.
But when you’ve heard our mission statement spoken or written, have you ever wondered yeah, but how?” I have. How do I (Jordan) help people find their way back to God?
If you are as captivated as I am with the Good News of Jesus, you also truly want to help people find their way back to him.
How do you and I help people find their way back to God?
Yes, that question can sometimes cripple us from taking the mission seriously. Because we often stop with simply asking how. But, it can also be the question, that if we ask with sincerity, will lead to real opportunity to help someone find their way back to God. And as with almost every part of the Christian faith, we are not meant to ask that question alone. So I want to extend an invite to others who are asking the “how” question.
On Tuesday, April 17 at 7pm, Fair Haven is hosting a training event for all people who care about helping people find their way back to God. It’s called the Friendship Evangelism Training, with Mark Mittelberg, the co-author of the book and training course Becoming a Contagious Christian. Mark will help each of us discover our unique style in helping people find their way back to God.
I’ll be there, with an open mind and heart to discover who and how I can help people find their way back to God. You’re invited to come ask the how question as it relates to who you are called to draw closer to God. You may discover something big. You may be brought closer to how you can help people find their way back to God.
