Our Global Impact
October 2, 2017
Fair Haven has a mission offering goal of $250,000 toward our shared One Mission fund with Harbor Churches. The first of five mission offerings is this Sunday, October 8! It is an exciting opportunity for each of us to give toward some amazing things. But before I continue, let me rewind…
When I came on staff at Fair Haven a little over six years ago, one thing stuck out to me…
I thought, “Wow, these people are really doing a lot of amazing things.” It struck me how intentional that this church was about reaching our community and our world with the Good News.
That thought, and the feelings attached to it, have not left me. In fact, as I have transitioned into the role of Director of Missional Engagement and the Next Gen (which is the world’s longest job title by the way)…my sense of “wow” continues to increase. As I spend time learning more about what we are a part of, I am humbled and pumped about it!
So let me attempt to share a bit of the “wow” that continuously strikes me. I can’t possibly include all of what God is doing globally through us in this short blog, but I hope that a little bit of “wow” will lead you to worship Jesus. I also hope that you will be encouraged to give generously to our mission fund this coming Sunday.
Through your giving to our mission fund….
- The impact of our One Mission is currently felt in over 20 countries around the world. We have mission presence in Austalia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Hungary, India, Iraq, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Russia, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, and Zambia.
- We are able to partner with over 33 organizations locally and worldwide: to provide relief and help to vulnerable people; to support the work of missionaries; to join in the global church planting movement, and so much more.
- This year we will be a part of helping plant 12 churches all over the world, in places like India, Nepal, Thailand, Nigeria, Nicaragua, West Michigan, and more.
- In the past two years alone, we have sent seven young people to live as missionaries in Guatemala, Kenya, Zambia, Australia, Russia, and the Dominican Republic.
This is a big snapshot, but…wow.
Through your generous giving to our mission fund, we are able to be a part of some amazing things. Thank you in advance for your support which will help people all over the world find their way back to our loving God.
Humbly and in awe,
