The songs we sing on a Sunday morning are a way for people to express their passion for Jesus. When we gather together for corporate worship, we are all coming from different walks of life. Some of us come from the highest of highs, but others also come from absolute rock bottom. The songs we sing are both for the triumphant and the hopeless, the strong, and at the same time, even for those who may literally be dying. Such a powerful truth.
Just a couple days ago, during our Sunday morning gathering, we sang these lyrics together;
You give life You are love, You bring light to the darkness
You give hope You restore, every heart that is broken
And great are You Lord
I couldn’t sing those lyrics without getting emotional. Why? Because the words meant a lot to me. In that moment, I was overwhelmed with the grace and love God has for us. I’d love to encourage you with this: Think about what you’re singing. Engage your heart and your mind. Believe what you say. Know that you are loved. If you’re going through a challenging time, my prayer for you is that as you seek Him through your worship, and you would find Him in the midst of your difficult times. I pray that the songs you sing would lift your faith, restore your hope, and highlight the unshakable truth of the Kingdom of Heaven in your life.
