God is Greater

Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
How amazing is it that we have a God who is bigger than anything we could possibly face in this world? Every doubt, every fear, every anxiety, every obstacle is nothing with Him in our corner.
As I write this, I am preparing with a team of seven from Fair Haven, to head to Uganda to share the love and word of Christ with the people of this country. It will be absolutely amazing, and although this trip will be filled with a lot of joy, compassion, and Jesus, it is an unfamiliar country, a lot of travel, and a lot to take in. It would be so easy to let our fear and anxiety of these things keep us from achieving our purpose on this trip, but God commands us to not be afraid.
The comforting truth is that God is greater.
God is greater than the unfamiliar country that we are about to travel to. God is greater than the 22-hour plane ride to get there. God is greater than the homesickness we may feel. God is greater than all of it. And He is greater than anything that you are facing in your life as well.
God commands us to be strong and courageous. If our God is for us, then what could possibly stand against us?
I love this assurance that no matter where we go, and no matter what we do, God will be right beside us. He will never leave us, and He will never forsake us in our weakness.
That is so cool.
Go do something great,
