FH Staff Blog: I’m In
October 12, 2016
Walker Harbor Church held a Vision Night this past Sunday. It was a huge success! Aaron Lewis, our Church Planter, set a goal of having 60 people in attendance. The number of people who showed up was closer to 75! There was a chili cook-off, games for the children, worship led by the Walker Harbor band and a visionary talk by Aaron.
I served as part of a team of Fair Haven members to lead the children’s ministry. It has been a long time since I sat with a bunch of children coloring and listening to veggie tales. There was a lot of excitement about the night and I heard that from a number of people. However, what I loved the most is what I overheard. As one parent was picking up her children she said to her friend, “I’m in. I love what this place is all about.”
Thank you, Fair Haven, for your love for God and of people. Thank you for taking risks for the gospel. Thank you for planting churches that help people find their way back to God. Thank you for praying for Walker Harbor Church, supporting Walker Harbor Church, and serving the people of Walker. Thank you for being a part of creating a place where people can say, “I’m in!”
